After a looooooong hiatus, it's time for this mama to get back into the swing of things. So I'm opening a sweet little neighborhood shop called Starlight Knitting Society. We'll be in the Woodstock neighborhood next to Wonderland Tattoos in a swanky space that's been newly rebuilt. I just know you're gonna love this new venture!
We'll be launching a kickstarter in a week or so, we hope you'll consider pledging! Let's do this!

Hello and Welcome to Movie Phone
Remember movie phone? Oh, I miss those days. It would take like 20 minutes to find a movie you wanted to see, then find where it was playing and when. It's odd to think that my kids will have no concept of this and will only know the internet...
So, if you're reading this, you care about what I'm up to, so here goes.
I started working at this bridal shop in January and it's been going well. I don't think I'll be doing it the rest of my life, but you never know. It's been hard to be away from my little ones, even if it is only 2 days a week. Mary is now almost 4 1/2 months old. Incredible. I'm still in disbelief that I won't have to go through labor again. After that, I think I could handle anything. I've been thinking about becoming a doula or a birth educator. I really like that kind of thing, but is it fleeting? You know, do I just like it because I just went through it? Um, this is random and rambling, but my shoulder muscle is killing and I want to stop typing.
I'm still teaching at Close Knit and Knitting Bee and loving it. It's a great connection to my (former) life. I'm also on facebook. It actually helps me feel more like a human, except for all those weird applications. Virtual gifts? I guess they don't cost much.
See ya.

Constant Accomplishment
I was rocking Mary back to sleep and looking at the laundry basket full of clean laundry waiting to be folded, when I thought of this... Doing the laundry is like a constant accomplishment. There always seems to be this wonderful feeling when the laundry is done. And yes, it does get done. I've been doing it more often, so I don't get overwhelmed, and I have to tell you that it feels great every time I put those two white baskets back in the laundry room empty. So, I guess I'm in a glass-half-full kind of mood these days.

Mary Avis has arrived
Forgive the lateness of this post, but our baby girl was born Monday, October 6th at 7:01 am. She was 8 lb. 2.5 oz. and 20 3/4" long. Her name is Mary Avis, (not pronounced like the car company, but with an a like in cat.) She's named after 2 of her great grandmothers on Peter's side. After 5 1/2 hours of labor, she was born in the birth tub in our living room. Charlie was there and promptly jumped in the tub in his pajamas, ready to meet his new sister. Our friend Crystal took care of Charlie and us for the day and was even asked if she was a post-pardum doula. (New career perhaps?) As with our first homebirth, our amazing midwives made all the difference in our wonderful and successful experience. Maryl Smith of and Madrona Bordoux are truly my birthing angels. I couldn't have done it without them. And I certainly couldn't have done it without my husband, who supported me (literally) through the whole process. Mary was born into his waiting hands and was instantly in love with her daddy. Enjoy the pics. Thanks for the love...

Still Pregnant... Hopefully Not For Long
Hey there people. I just thought I'd post and say that I'm due to have a baby on Monday. That's right 3 days from now. I'm big as a house, highly uncomfortable and wishing I was posting baby pictures for all of you. I don't even know if anyone is reading this nonsense. If you are, Hi. I can't believe I'm still pregnant. I was expecting to have this baby early like with Charlie. But alas, no such luck! I love that my baby will be big and healthy, but I don't love that I am big and well, big. Okay, will post next with pics of a little one. Really, really soon.

More Hats and Booties...
Yes, I seem to be hat and bootie crazy these days. It's really only because I'm teaching my hat at both Close Knit and Knitting Bee this Summer. The booties are the inspiration for the hat, so they must be made as well. Again, Charlie looks like a stunning little girl, much to Peter's chagrin. The class listing for Close Knit is out and Knitting Bee should be close behind. I'm teaching several classes this Summer, but there a couple of overlaps. I figured I might as well teach as much baby stuff as possible since I'm going to be undeniably huge at that point. I'll try to post more class project photos as they become available!
